Microblading

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent restoration that creates hair-like strokes within the brow by using a manual pen containing very small needles. These needles implant pigment into the lower layers of the epidermis giving you the perfect brow. Unlike an eyebrow pencil that you wipe off at night before you go to sleep, Microblading results can last 10-16 months depending on your age and skin type. A six week touch-up is included in your treatment plan, and annual touch-ups are suggested, especially for patients with oily skin or that spend excessive amounts of time in the sun.  This treatment is extremely customizable, and patients are encouraged to bring in pictures of their desired brow shape and shade.

During and after the treatment

It is normal for your new brows to go through several phases. Immediately following the procedure, they may seem dark and the strokes will appear very crisp. Throughout the weeks, the pigment will soften gradually as it settles into the skin. This is why we schedule a 6 week check-up, to ensure that pigment is fading at an appropriate pace. Once the skin starts to heal, it may appear dry and flake a bit. This is a normal healing process, as microblading has a similar healing cycle to a normal tattoo.

Once your results are healed completely, the use of SPF is strongly recommended in order to prevent premature fading which is common in patients who in the sun a lot.
